Flamingo Arts came today to help us make a Christmas present. Thanks Ms. Dawn

Mr. Reddick, Alex's dad came to class today and shared his equipment and experiences. He recently came back from Iraq. Thank you Mr. Reddick for keeping us all safe!

Today we learned about different types of maps. We made Relief Maps in this picture. It was a good day!


Today we discovered and captured many insects that just live in the grass. Ranger Dave had a great program on the Florida Black Bear and we learned about the early Indians that lived in Florida.

Today Ms. Jolene presented a wonderful program on Magnets.

Preparing for our field study next week to Camp Chowenwaw, we each made a booklet on a Biome. We all studied "Wetlands". Then we each made a Wetland animal.

Today we traveled to the Rural Folk Festival at the Stephen Foster State Park. We learned how people use to live back in colonial times. Some of the activities we experienced was churning butter, making cane sugar, and a blacksmith making nails and hooks. It was a beautiful day weather wise and learning wise.

Ranger Dave helped up to identify species we caught.

Today we went to Camp Chowenwaw to meet Ranger Dave. We learned about Wetlands. We discovered many species in the pond. What a great day!

Today we learned the scientific names for our bones. Here we labeled a skeleton with these names.

Today we had a field study to MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art). Later we had lunch at Taco Bell.
Reminding all my special kids that your Reading Log is due just before Christmas. How are you coming on this?

Today the 5th graders went to the Old Florida Museum. We found artifacts from the Florida Indians and the Spanish that once lived in Florida at an archeological dig site.

Today we finally finished our Alaskan Masks! They will be hanging in the very front of the school and in the glass case across from the library. Everyone come and see our artistic impressions!

What a great day at the Lightner Musuem in St. Augustine. Mr. Lightner collected everything from buttons to music boxes. The time went so fast!

We had an exciting field study to the Southern History Museum. At the museum they had a flag that was draped over President Lincoln's casket, the bars that Stonewall Jackson wore on his shoulders and many flags from the Civil War era.

Today the 4th graders learned about the moon. They made a 3D book that you see in the picture of the "Phases of the Moon". It was a very interesting day!

Today the 5th graders made a time line about the American Civil War. Next week they will visit the Museum of Southern History.

Today we learned more about Alaska and started making masks like the natives of Alaska. These will be eventually painted and decorated.

After learning about the parts of the eye,we made these special clay figures with BIG EYEBALLS! Today we finished them with paint and glaze!
